Scrum is a framework for developing, delivering and sustaining complex products through effective team collaboration, and it’s been used to develop almost everything we use in our lives both as individuals and societies.
Widely recognized as the most used Agile framework in the world, Scrum is a well-established framework for developing, delivering and sustaining complex products through effective team collaboration. There are 3 important roles within a Scrum team which are the Scrum Master, Product Owner and the Developer. Whilst Scrum Masters are responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules and values, Scrum Product Owners also play a pivotal role in driving business value from the effective use of Scrum.
The Product Owner is accountable for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the Scrum Team and for shaping, ordering and communicating the goals and needs that drive and focus that work. The Product Owner is one person (not a committee) and will often be expected to represent the needs of many stakeholders.
In line with the existing Scrum Master course, the Product Owner course addresses the principles and theory underpinning the Scrum framework together with the role and responsibilities of a Scrum Product Owner. Training and certification are based on the latest (2020) edition of The Scrum Guide. Developed by Scrum creators Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland, it defines the key elements of Scrum and the rules that bind them together.
The new course offers a combination of instruction and team-based exercises. Delegates are challenged to think in terms of the Scrum principles to better understand their application when returning to the workplace. Delegates will learn the role of Scrum Product Owner, equipping them with the knowledge to work effectively within Scrum Teams towards effective product and solution development.
This training will prepare participants for the official Product Owner examination from the Agile Business Consortium.
