KUALA LUMPUR, 2nd of November 2023. Cybiant Asia Sdn. Bhd. and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) have taken a significant step forward towards fostering innovation and digital transformation in Malaysia by formalising a strategic partnership through the signing of a Letter of Intent. The Letter of Intent was signed in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mr Mark Rutte, and the Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, Y.B. Liew Chin Tong during the High-Level Business Dinner at the Sheraton Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on the 31st of October.
The Letter of Intent signifies a mutual commitment to exploring diverse initiatives, including the development of digital skills programs, the cultivation of tech entrepreneurship, and the advocacy for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital agricultural technology (AgTech), and enterprise big data. These joint efforts are geared towards elevating Malaysia’s status as a nucleus for digital innovation and positioning the nation as a dynamic force in the worldwide digital economy arena.
The Letter of Intent was signed during the High-Level Business Dinner that was organized by the Dutch Embassy to increase ties and collaboration between Dutch and Malaysian businesses, in celebration of the Dutch Prime Minister’s visit to Kuala Lumpur. Jan-Willem Middelburg, CEO at Cybiant, signed the letter on behalf of Cybiant. Senior Vice President of Digital Industry Development, Datuk Ts. Fadzli Abdul Wahit signed the letter on behalf of MDEC.
